Off to Tokyo and Yokohama with a typhoon in tow — a company trip full of smiles
This year’s company trip turned out to be quite the adventure: we travelled up to Tokyo alongside a typhoon, and headed home to Shodoshima as if seeing it off.
Umbrellas were next to useless, and we walked to the hotel soaked through — though it makes for a good laugh now.
Strangely enough, it is often those mishaps that stay in the memory most.
At teamLab, where dreamlike light and images spread out around us, we were so moved that all anyone could say was how amazing it was.
In a space that felt like wandering into another world, everyone lost track of time.
In Yokohama’s Chinatown we enjoyed authentic cuisine. The shark fin in particular was exceptional, and more than a few of us said we would happily eat it again.
Our stomachs and our hearts were both thoroughly satisfied.
A trip becomes a memory not only for its destination, but for the unexpected things that happen along the way.
Getting soaked, laughing together, the wonderful food and the beautiful views — next year we will surely be laughing about all of it again.
So, where shall we go next year?
Will we bring clear skies with us this time, or arrange to meet another typhoon...
Only the gods know that one.
We are already looking forward to the day we can all add another happy memory together.
